Stress levels are rising~

Lectures started today n it's been a blast in the uni. Heard from Lin someone actually jumped off in one of the halls, not sure what happened to him though..
Tried to study in the mech eng study room but it was full. Decided to go to level 6/7 to find an empty drawing room but the 4th years were using them for their final exams. Everyone was revising n under 'hardcore' mode.
Ended hanging out with Adward n Clement until 2ish when we actually found an empty room, but were chased out soon because of some bio-engineering lecture.. read more mechatronics, but i don't get it at all! i hate electronics!
Everyone else seems to be on past papers now n i reflect on what i have done.. i haven't touched any papers yet! time for me to get working...

Cold Storage!

Spent around 2 hours cooking this dish.. sweet n sour chicken.. thats a long time wasted because i forgot to take out the chicken from the freezer! had to use the microwave to defrost it instead...

Sweet n sour chicken with dry chilli, green, red, yellow peppers, tomatoes n pineapple (added corn-flour to make the sauce thicker n less runny)

it was fantastic! mmm.. =) i got plenty left..

Did a little bit of reading for mechatronics coz i hvn't even touched it at all..
definitely not looking forward to tommorrow.. lectures are starting n that means waking up early..

EPL title race becomes interesting

Had an American/British/Asian breakfast today! Bacons with eggs, baked beans with mash potatoes n toasted bread with Kaya!

The mashed-potatoes looks like brownish coz of the brown sauce i added to it...

Went down to gloucester arms bar to watch the Chelsea MU match today.. didn't see any john dykes or steve mcmahon.. haha.. anyways.. it was a great match between the 2 top sides. it looks like a repeat of the Barca MU champions league match with MU having so little possesion in the 1st half.. Chelsea had early opportunities to draw first blood with Essien shooting over the bar.. it was just a matter of time before Chelsea actually cracked the defence open with a cross from Drogba outside the box followed by a smashing header from Ballack..

Vidic was carried off in a strecther after a blow on the mouth by Drogba's knee on sometime like the 10th minute of the 1st half.. hopefully he plays against Barca in Old trafford on tuesday..

The 2nd half commenced n MU looks like the fresher side now, attacking n creating chances.. the equaliser soon came from Rooney after a mistake from Carvalho who back-passed the ball towards to the Chelsea goal, leaving Rooney to be one-on-one with Cech in goal. Rooney was soon sub. off coz he kept looking at the sidelines n seems to be injured!

Anelka n Shevchenko were soon substitued into the match, making Chelsea's attack one of the most expensive in Europe including Drogba. There was an argument between Ballack n Drogba on one of the free-kicks n i thought it would be the end of Chelsea.. especially when 2 of their top players are quarreling like this..

A penalty was awarded against MU due to a hand-ball inside the box by Carrick.. Ballack was there to take it again n he scored.. the atmosphere in the bar went crazy after that goal.. there was this sudden surge of noises n celebration everywhere! even the bar-tender had to tell the crowd to calm down!


Went to college to read mechatronics notes for a little bit before heading to the gym..
Went for dinner in thai square in south ken coz it was tieng's bday coming on this tuesday. If u r going to read my blog, tieng.. i would like to wish u happy advanced bday n hope u have a nice one! good luck on for ur exams n love life as well! hahaha ^_^ i didnt get to write on ur bday card coz no-one passed it to me, considering how far i live.. but hope this counts! =P

The presence of home~

Cooked mee sua for lunch today coz was sick of rice, spaghetti n pasta.. decided to try something else for a change. The weather here in london is getting pretty warm, u can basically walk out with just a t-shirt n a pair of short pants.. it's starting to feel more n more like brunei now.. especially with Nigel's Kaya n the late supper!

Did absolutely no work at all today.. instead i watched snooker until i slept in the kitchen.. that was the whole afternoon gone..

Went over to Yheu-shen's place to have dinner.. menu was white cream chicken which i brought n chilli pork which yheu-shen cooked. there was a talk by Mahathir in imperial today.. it was something related to war.. didn't attend his talk, instead i lent my CID to yheu shen so he could go for the talk.. n to my surprise, he didn't use my CID.. he created his own imperial CID card using his computer n printer! Looks quite identical to mine except for the name n the face. CHUA brothers~ hahaha =P

Tried out the 2003 past paper for mechanics.. but failed badly.. i don't know how to do the questions. Time is running out quickly n my stress level is shooting up like mad.. but this doesn't mean i get lock myself in my room the whole day n try drill through those questions which i have no clue how to do...

Went gyming today, met Billy n we had a little chat.
Nothing interesting is happening lately.. my life is a bore with these exams looming up!

JOHN DYKES!

Went n have dimsum in Chinese Experience in Chinatown with dave, jason, ming, tieng, izzy, mala n alvina for lunch.. we were suppose to meet there at 12:30pm, but the rest of the group was late.. leaving jason, dave n i waiting for something like 20 minutes.. they finally came n we had a wonderful lunch! not that expensive.. total bill was 68+ pounds.

We decided to walk around leicester square after lunch.. but the group got seperated. Jas, dave n i were walking behind the rest n soon they disappeared.. but anyways, we had fun walking around.. walked from leicester square all the way to oxford street, going into random shops like ANF, YSL n River Island. Lingered around that area until around 5ish.

Made my way back to my hall.. then met nigel who asked me whether i wanted to go to gloucester arms (a bar in gloucester road) to watch the manu barca match at night..
Grabbed a quick dinner.. then off we went to Gloucester Arms at 6pm by tube. Reached the place at around 6:45pm.. it was lucky that we went there early or we wouldn't have gotten any seats. Met up with Amresh n the malaysian seniors, ZhernYong, Kok Ding n XL who saved seats for us..

It was night time n after the match..

More malaysian 1st years came n soon the match started.. Chester, JJ, KL were there as well.. There wasn't much noise in the bar by this time.. everyone was watching the match n eating their food...

Until...3 minutes into the game when Manu got a penalty awarded.. n it was Ronaldo taking it.. everyone in the bar was shouting n celebrating by this.. except for a couple of people sitting behind. (they supported barca!)

Ronaldo shot n it was a pretty bad miss.. he shot wide n it hit the post.. DESPAIR! the score was held at 0-0.. manu could have taken the lead at such an early moment of the game.. the game was dominated mainly by barca with possesion of around 65% to barca n 35% to manu.. Messi was incredible with his footwork.. i loved the way he dribbles n controls the ball.. just immaculate! Ronaldo didn't have such a good game today but thanks to Rio who did amazing defending n Van der Sar for saving those wonderful shots, the score ended as 0-0. Manu had a terrible match n Barca could have got the lead several times! i was quite surprised when Messi was substituted for Bojan though.. he was having such a good game..

Anyways, the highlight of today wasn't the dimsum or the match i watched in gloucester arms.. it was this... i saw two commentators in the bar i was in.. someone from ESPN (i watch that back in brunei!).. n to meet them in real life!!

i can't actually believe nigel n i actually went n talked to john dykes n steve mcmahon n asked them for a photo! they even told us that they will be there for the chelsea manu epl match this saturday!

Chelsea with the advantage...

Went swimming in ethos today.. not for very long though because i wanted to catch the liverpool chelsea champions league match in my hall.. apparently my hall only shows live matches of football on tuesdays..

Came back at 8ish pm from ethos, ran to the kitchen, switched on the tv n the score was still 0-0
Reheated the cream chicken nigel n i cooked yesterday, cooked burgers and curly fries while watching the match. Liverpool was dominating most of the match n it wasn't long before Kuyt had an opener.. thanks to Lampard who was caught in possession of the ball at the edge of the box after Terry's header. The 1st half ended with the score of 1-0 to liverpool.. not very exciting football from chelsea..

The 2nd half soon started, our dinner was done n we were gobbling it down mad.. i was dam hungry.. the play so far wasn't that threatening or exciting other than chelsea players whacking liverpool players' faces.. torres with his pretty face.. haha.. nyways, the half got more exciting after the joe cole substitution. Chelsea had a string of chances but they went to waste.. thanks again to Lampard.. there were a couple of chances here n there by both sides, but chelsea looks to be a better side as time went closer to injury time. Cech was on-form n blocking wonderful shots from gerrard n torres.. but i noticed that he seems to have a problem with corners.

By the last minute of injury time, i had enough of watching the match.. was going to eat the raspberry ice-cream i bought from Iceland.. then suddenly out of nowhere, Riise scored.. but thats into his own goal! i was like.. OMG! was jumping up n down, celebrating with my ice-cream! haha.. a well deserved victory for chelsea eventhough they didn't perform that well!

Malaysia's food-testers*

Woke up at 10ish again today.. took the bus to Iceland, but there isnt anymore 1 pound chicken.. settled with the more expensive ones n bought beef.
Went jogging out with nigel.. didnt have a clue where we were heading in the first place but ended up in camden town. Saw the Sainsbury there which was extremely huge, probably bigger than the one in gloucester road. Went in to look for reduced* items.. i only brough 5 pounds, so ended up only buying the reduced brocolli.
Took the over-ground from camden back to caledonian road then jogged all the way back to the hall.

Woke up at 10:30am.. thanks to nigel who woke me up by messaging my phone.. went to Angel to shop for groceries, walked around M&S, Woolworth, Iceland n Sainsbury.. a note to myself: never shop on sundays.. iceland didnt have their 1 pound chicken n most of the food seems to be off the shelves. anyways, came back with some groceries n cooked this...

Chatted with my mum in the afternoon. my ticket back to brunei has been booked on the 10th of june n most probably im going to go back with alex. at least the flight isnt going to be as bored as my first one.. hopefully*

i have just noticed how fast time has flew by me, sitting alone in my room now.. i look around... alot of things can happen to a person in a matter of weeks or should i say it can take a day for someone to change completely.. someone u never imagined.. their habits, the way they act and their personalities.
i never imagined that to happen.. but i guess i was wrong. its not up till today that i have noticed how those who were close to u can be gone in a flick or change completely as a person.

its sad for me to see someone with so much hope ruin his life like this n yet i cant do anything about it. those who know what im talking about might think its a small matter.. but i guess life goes on.. time progresses.. i have to accept that fact..

alot had happened.. i cant bear to talk anymore about this.. i will cut it short here..

recalling too much of the past will not accomplish anything~

nothing special

Nothing much really happened today.
Went gyming.. saw brandon n billy playing badminton in ethos gym against two other people.
Walked to gloucester road Sains from ethos to shop for my weekly groceries.. (weather was perfect with a beautiful sunset as i walked there). im cooking spaghetti this week. Nothing really special.. but m thinking about cooking seafood spaghetti some time before i go back to brunei.

Didn't do any work today, getting worried about the exams.. the plan is to get to work for the next few weeks until the exams.. hopefully im able to do that without much procrastination..

Just had my dinner n finish keeping the food.. im really tired now n i need my rest~ as for now, see u guys.

Fire Alarm!

Woke up at 9ish today, considered one of the earliest in my holidays so far.. thanks to the fire alarm that went off. i thought it was just one of those normal thursday fire alarm drills where they just test your fire alarms for faults.. but it was a drill instead. So ended up walking down those stairs in my boxers n just a plain t-shirt, still deep in my slumber.. after around 10 minutes out in the windy morning, got back to my room n slept for another hour..

I remembered seeing a fly in the kitchen a few days ago.. i was shocked to see it.. havnt seen any flies since i got here until a few days ago! this was what was left of the fly...

Running out of time~

Finally got down to some solid work today. Did a little fluid mechanics for a few hours in the afternoon after my lunch, which was porridge. The upcoming final exams are starting to get me worried as i looked at my timetable.. i m running out of time n i have tons of tutorial sheets to get on with, not to mention the past papers which i have to attempt at some point before the exams.

As for now, i better get down to more work...

Epic Battle: 2-1

Woke up quite early today.. thanks to the stomach upset i had. the feeling is just terrible. Anyways, woke up just in time to catch the london marathon on tv. It was Martin Lel who won it again.. i think it was his 3rd consecutive win.. couldnt believe the amount of strength he had left in the final 385 yards to the finish line.. he sprinted those last yards, setting a new world record of 2 hours 5 mins plus.. the determination he had~

The day was filled more with sports. it was the epic battle between man utd n arsenal in old trafford. Went down to ethos gym to watch it with nigel n yheu-shen. There were quite a number of people there as well. One of the most exciting matches i have seen in london so far.. considering that i dont have the opportunity to watch these live matches as they arent broadcast in my hall.

the 1st half was a close battle n was a terrific half filled with wonderful opportunities. adebayor could have scored the opener but Van der Sar gt the ball safely in his hands. Arsenal see chances go to waste time after time.. it was soon the 2nd half n the contest seems pretty even with both sides having a go at the other..

It was arsenal to draw first blood n adebayor was there to slip it past Van der Sar.

To make matters worse, it seems like a repeat of the arsenal liverpool match. A penalty was given against arsenal soon after adebayor scored n it was ronaldo to take it.. he converted twice, with the first penalty disallowed because park encroached into the box. Everyone in ethos gym was like cheering including yheu-shen who stood up in excitement!

the score was levelled at 1-1 until the 71th minute. It was a free-kick to man utd outside the arsenal box, with hargreaves n ronaldo to take it. Everyone was anticipating ronaldo would take but instead hargreaves turned n shot.. dipped over the wall n curled away from lehmann. What a fabulous goal! Everyone was cheering like mad by this time.. the fun is yet to come with the trickery from ronaldo. during the dying minutes of the 2nd half, ronaldo came up with his dancing skills, cross-overs n all sorts of amazing footwork! The match ended 2-1 with man utd winning. the chances arsenal will come back for the title race suddenly diminishes.

Went gymming n swimming after the match since i was already in ethos. Met brandon there n had a talk. its been a long time i talked to him.. anyways, this was what i had for dinner, hopefully a better one than i had...

Out Dining~

Watched the swimming competition in my hall while having my lunch.. it was the finals. the american Ryan Lochte had an amazing swim in the 400m medley. he was slightly behind the british swimmer (cant remember his name) for most of the race until the final change of strokes. His freestyle swim and his kick off the wall is just amazing.. such power he gets off the wall! Watching him seems to motivate and make me want to swim again..

Worst thing that happened today was that i had stomache.. i think it must have been the food i had for lunch. even nigel had it too.. hopefully it is not the curry chicken or we might have to throw away 2 whole pots =(

Went out for dinner in china town with nigel n my malaysian friends. Had crispy duck n other sorts of chinese food! The meal was quite good compared to the food i had for lunch.. When asked what i want, all i said was as long as it's "clean", can eat already.. due to the incident i had this afternoon..

Now i am back in my boring hall again, listening to the same music.. the new album of jay chou seems to be a hit for me now with the songs 'Cai Hong' n 'Bu Gong Ying De Yue Ding'.

Tired~

Woke up at my usual time for holidays which is around 11ish am.. chatted to fred again.. i seem to get more time to catch up with him during the holidays because of the time difference between uk and australia (aussie is 9 hours in front).
Had lunch and watched tv. Suprisingly, my hall showed some swimming competition. i cant remember what name the competition was called but it seems to bring up memories of me swimming back in the times when i was in brunei.
Called back home today but reception using the 'pineapple card' was so bad. i couldnt hear anything my mum was telling me, but i think i got my message across. Hope all is going well in brunei. i cant wait to go back early june after my exams! it's getting closer day by day~

My day was then followed by gyming and swimming in ethos gym. Was totally drained out after all that. It's been quite a long time since i went to ethos for some exercise~ Came back to my hall at around 9ish after shopping for food in somerfield. Cooked curry chicken while having my dinner of roasted chicken which caleb marinated.

Manu vs Roma- What a Bore!

Played badminton today with nigel n his friends, yheu shen n brian in some sports centre in euston. i think the name of the sports centre was ULU. Was dam fun n yet not tiring at all.. it must be because of the weather here in london. but, its getting warmer as spring approaches..

Went to brian's hall located in euston to catch the manu vs roma match coz my hall doesnt show sky sports 2. Big Tv with couches lined up as if it was a cinema.. quite a decent place to watch football.. The match was bore.. nothing really happened except for the tevez header which lead to a goal and the time when Roma was awarded a penalty.. Rossi was there to take it with Van der Sar in goal, n he missed it totally.. it went way over the bar.. everyone in the room was basically gobsmacked.
As the time ticked, the match got so boring until Yheu shen snoozed off on the couch! Even the liverpool arsenal match was much better.

Another day of not touching my work at all.. i feel terrible. i should start~

Champions League~ Liverpool vs Arsenal

Went jogging with nigel today around Caledonian Road.. jogged along a river which was actually part of a park, then all the way to king cross st pancras, stopping by intially at Somerfield to look for reduced items then at tesco in king cross. Bought a few bits n pieces to cook for dinner. Never knew there was a river near caledonian road.. so serene. It seems to be a popular jogging/cycling path, as we saw many other people exercising as well.. Nyways, now i know how to get back to my hall from king cross, which is a great achievement for me! haha..

Had my dinner while watching the liverpool vs arsenal match.. was late for the kick-off. 40 mins of the game had already gone by n the score was 1-1.. was hoping for it to play till extra time then penalties but my hope was shattered after a torres blast inside the box at 69th minute.. i have got to say the 2nd goal by arsenal was incredible.. theo walcott running past 4 liverpool players from defence.. then crossing the ball to adebayor. Nigel n i were jumping up n down, celebrating then out of nowhere a penalty was awarded in the arsenal half. As usual, gerrard took it n scored. arsenal was demolished at the end by 4 goals to 2.
So, now for the champion league semi-finals, its going to be chelsea vs liverpool. Hopefully, i can watch the manu match tomorrow.

Catch up~

Stayed in my hall the whole day.. not even stepping out of the main door.. tried to study the first booklet of materials but instead got carried away by facebook n msn..
Chatted with alex on msn at around 10pm n ended having a convo through skype which ended at 2ish.. exchanged songs n talked bout the usual things us guys talked about. It seems like a long time that we have spoken.. n its good to finally catch up with the recent alex who hasnt changed much himself.. still the same old alex i knew in brunei! hehe.. thats not a bad thing.. ok..
Nothing much happened recently.. it feels like my life is a bore, staying in london n supposedly trying to study for my exams, yet i cant.

Finally finished uploading all the photos i took in my paris trip to facebook so that the others can take them off me.
Chatted with Fred on msn when i woke up.. got filled in bout his life in aussie so far.. which seems to be on the balance.. some parts were pretty decent while others werent as good as he wanted it to be.. i shouldnt actually be talking bout him in my blog.. but oh well..

Had dinner in brunei hall n hung out in chia's room which she shared with suang n e-rue.. chiann n shin came in as well. The so-called 'satellite', Chia was using suang's internet, snooping around blogs n looking at my paris pictures on facebook.. soon we were bored, went out to burger king for ice cream, then came back. We were looking at suang's pics on her computer.. then suddenly the door opened without a knock! ohh ohh.. to my surprise, it was the warden! Caught in a girl's room in brunei hall, he asked me what i was doing here, then left.. Phew~ i was stuck for word at that moment, luckily chia quickly answered, "he needs to get his luggage".
Stayed for a little while, then i went back to my hall..

Back from Paris~ Final Day

Day 5

Today is the last day of our Paris trip n we are going to go back to London. I had a wonderful time n would recommend u guys to go to Paris if possible! ^_^

We reached London at last! I had to go to Brunei Hall to drop off Chia's things which was in my luggage bag. Ate dinner there then made my way back to my hall~

Back from Paris~ Day 4

Day 4

Today was shopping n eating day~ we went to one of the biggest mall in Paris according to Shin's sister.

Huge Easter Egg costing 290 euros!

Us guys and girls split ways... they went to the girls section which was in another building..

Time for some ice-cream! GELATO!!! mmmm...

Our last night in Paris was amazing as we went hunting for "good n nice" food recommended by the receptionist in the hotel. We had some trouble finding the place, but the food made up for all the walking.. it was FABULOUS~~

Trying to find this famous sea-food restaurant took us around 20 to 30 minutes

Still hungry for food.. we ended going to Mezza Luna, an Italian restaurant serving wonderful pasta.

We headed back, all of us extremely full from the wonderful feast we had. Had a crazy night there, the girls came over to our room because they wanted to disturb us.. but instead got themselves into Boon Jing n his Ju-on! haha.. Boon Jing decided to tell ghost stories.. got them all really scared until they didnt want to go back to their room!

To ligthen the mood up, we ended up playing a game of posing... each of us had to do 5 poses under the spotlight...

We would have continued doing stupid things the whole night through, but a call from reception came, telling us that someone complained that we were too noisy~

The night ended here.. The last night in Kyriad Hotel in Pigalle!
