London Dungeon!

Woke up quite late as usual n looked at the photos i took off chia's computer yesterday. This trip to London Dungeon was quite some time ago (during our december holidays) n i definitely had fun eventhough it's my second time there.. scaring chia n her friends (now u guys are gonna start caling me a big bully!)
Most of the photos taken inside the dungeon weren't of good quality due to the lighting, so i couldn't upload the whole lot.

Gettin Ready!

Woke up at 11am today.. which is surprisingly early for my holiday slumber coz i heard from chia that brunei hall is serving lunch =) mmm.. cheap n tasty! ok.. that's not the only reason why i woke up so early.. My plan today was to wake up early.. do some work, go to brunei hall n have lunch, exchange euros for my paris trip coming in 2 days! However, things didn't turn out the way i planned, which is usually the case.

Got up, checked my msn then ended up chattin to franscisca till chia confirmed that there is actually food being served in bru hall.. a surprise lunch menu it is.. it's something like mee soto except it's got less soup!

Thanks to chia.. shin, chian, chia n i went all the way down to edgeware road to look for money changers n worse of all it started to rain when we were halfway there =/ 3 of them having hoodies n i didnt wear a hoodie today.. so u get the point > i was wet! Until shin pulled out her magical umbrella..

Ended up not exchanging any pounds for euros coz the rates there were pretty low. Soo we walked back to brunei hall n waited for the dam rain to stop. Meanwhile, i entertain myself with the wonderful wide screen TV in brunei hall (dam.. i wished my hall had it).

Went down to paddington station this time, checking for rates once again. Found out that the red corner shop where they posted "selling euros at 1.2580 with no COMISSION" was a scam. Asked the indian what the best rate he could give me if i exchanged 1200 pounds for euros.. he said, "1.2550 my friend, best rate" which is lower than what was posted on the board outside. Told him to check his board outside.. then suddenly he's like, "ok ok.. best rate is 1.2580" To make matters worse, the no COMISSION posted on the board is a fake as well.. they charge 1% comission!
So BEWARE of the red money exchanger in the corner when walking to the left as you leave paddington station!

In the end, ended exchanging our pounds for euros in "eurochange" which is next to the station itself. Didn't know why we went through all the hassle n trouble just to exchange euros, but it was quite fun!

Anyways, i need to do my laundry now n pack for the Paris trip.. heard from chia's friend that it's going to be a morning train at 5:45am n we have to be in the train station at like 5am! That's flipping early but that's what u get if u wan to get there on a cheap fare =)

Realising~

Today marks another unproductive day of my easter break.. been lazing around the whole day doing nothing at all.

Woke up at around 12ish n went to the kitchen looking for food but there was none left.. so i ended up going down to Iceland which is like 5 minutes from my hall to do some grocery shopping which is hopefully going to last me a few days before i head off to Paris in 3 days time!

Spending 1 hour preparing n cooking, i made this meal for lunch - salmon with brocolli and potato!

Looking through the pictures in my laptop back in the times when i was back in brunei, i finally get the feeling that i miss home very much~ It's quite weird that u guys hear those words from me (especially chia.. haha) coz i have always been saying to chia, "it's ok.. it's only a few months left before you go back."

Realising that it's going to be a quite long time (4 years) before i can actually celebrate chinese new year back in brunei, CNY 2007 is the last one i just had n will miss dearly...

1st time~ Back to my Homies

hey guys, alright.. this is my first time blogging and i'm not tat gud at blog layouts as well.. so jus gonna pick one of the default layouts. This is going to come as a shock to some, especially my cousins as i've always said that i will not ever blog. But ohh well, i take back wt i said.

Soo it's been a long time since u guys heard from me in uk.. well i've sorta been in the shadows n been quiet bout most of the things. Here in the uk, its very different compared to brunei where everything seems to be done for u. One major change would be the weather. It may seem to come as a blessing at first.. cold windy - a place where u wouldn't need air-con.. but the longer u stay here, the more u want the warmth. But don't u guys worry bout me in brunei, i'll make sure i wear thicker and more clothes.

I came to uk.. only knowing how to cook rice, butter fish n to fry an egg n all of these were not done to perfection. During my first few weeks here, i ended up learning how to microwave my food n this had been called 'cooking' for me. But i guess this definition has changed..
it turns out thanks to a helpful flatmate of mine, nigel who taught me how to cook and prepare the ingredients for cooking, i now can cook quite a handful of different types of food, may it range from spaghetti to curry chicken!

As u guys can see, its been a struggle in the uk (not only with the aspects of cooking, adapting to the weather which i already have but also the workload from imperial college which seems to be extremely demanding). However, this has been a wonderful n great experience for me as i've learnt how to handle situations better individually.

It's not till now tat i really appreciate what i had back in brunei. To mention only a few, my bro and sis to play around with, my mum to talk to when i had problems, my dad which i greatly miss, my aunts n uncles and last but not least all the cousins!
To all of u back home, wish u guys all the best n i will be back during June! =)

I will try to upload some of my photos onto this blog soon.
